Goods landing in designated countries require timber packaging materials to be treated and stamped in accordance to the (UK WOOD PACKING AND MATERIAL MARKING PROGRAMME). Requirements for regulating wood packaging material international trade (ISPM15).
The ISPM-15 mark is split up into four sections. The left hand section takes up a ¼ of the whole mark and is a part where the IPPC's logo is contained. The rest of the mark is split up into 3 horizontal sections. The top section is reserved for the unique UKWPMMP registration number. The middle section is allowing the importer / exporter to know what has been done with the wood. For example DB-HT would mean De-Barked Heat Treated where as MB would mean Methyl Bromide. The final section is for the Forestry Commission's logo.
